RISD Maharam STEAM Fellowship

• $5,000 to support RISD students in an unpaid summer internship
• Applicants must research and propose an internship where artists / designers are not usually found.
• The nature of the internship should focus on highlighting and strengthening the role of innovative, visually acute critical thinkers to solve problems and address public/social/community concerns. The work should connect to public policy in some way.
• The internship organization must be a government organization, non-governmental organization, or non-profit organization (not a for-profit company).
• Projects that engage and promote the advocacy of the inclusion of arts in science, technology, engineering, or math fields are preferred.

Skowhegan Summer Residency

• Up to two RISD candidates will receive a scholarship from Skowhegan and matching funds from RISD to cover the entire cost of tuition.
• An intensive 9 week summer residency program for emerging visual artists that seeks to bring together gifted and diverse individuals who demonstrate a commitment to art-making and inquiry.

Anderson Ranch Artists-in-Residence Program

• Up to two RISD candidates who are selected for Fall or Spring residences will receive funding from Anderson Ranch and the RISD Career Center to attend the residency - $1,500 which includes housing, studio space, and meals.
• The residency fosters creative and intellectual growth for emerging and established visual artists. Residents have access to world-class facilities and 10 weeks of uninterrupted studio time.
• Residencies are offered to artists who work in one of the following media: ceramics, new media, photography, furniture design, woodworking, painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture.

Windgate Fellowship Award

• $15,000 awarded nationally to each of 10 graduating seniors.
• RISD nominates 2 seniors.
• Work must be informed by the craft process, materials, & traditions.

Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts Scholarship

• Two RISD students will be awarded full scholarships towards one-week summer workshops at the Arrowmont campus in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
• The scholarship has a value of approximately $1,300 and includes the one-week course fee, meals and housing in dormitory style facilities, and a $300 stipend that may be used for travel or materials fee.

• Students are nominated by Graduate Coordinators.

• Open to seniors & graduate students.

RISD Graduate Studies Grant

• The Division of Graduate Studies manages this grant.
• Pre-final year students may apply for: research and travel associated with emerging thesis work or other research and creative projects.
• Final year students may apply for: development, expansion, or publication/ dissemination/ exhibition of the thesis or related work.
• Individuals or teams may apply.
• The application cycle begins in late January, applications are due in March, and recipients are announced in April.

• The Division of Graduate Studies manages this grant.
• Awards support student participation in academic and professional conferences and symposia.
• Enrolled graduate students in good academic standing who have a confirmed invitation to present their work publicly at the event may apply.

• $4,000 to grow a social venture over the summer.

• RISD Research manages this grant.
• Up to $2,500 per student, and $5,000 for faculty to continue exploratory work begun in the classroom or studio on a broad range of topics as a pathway to further research, external partnerships, and funding.
• The applicant is a RISD faculty member; Participating students must be a current or recent graduate of RISD (within one semester of award date).

Marshall Scholarship

• Covers tuition & other expenses for one or two years of graduate study at a UK institution.
• Up to 40 scholars are chosen in any discipline each year.
• Criteria includes Academic Merit (must have a 3.7 GPA), Leadership Potential, Ambassadorial Potential.
• Applications are submitted to and endorsed by RISD.
• Must hold a bachelor's degree before the start of the grant (September).
• Must have graduated no earlier than three years prior to application.
• Must be a U.S. citizenship at the time of application.

• 12 Mitchell Scholars are chosen in any discipline each year.
